Talking bin being introduced in London and Liverpool

A new scheme that uses famous voices to congratulate users for binning their rubbish is set to launch in London and Liverpool in October.

As part of the scheme, over 20 talking rubbish and recycling bins will be trialled across Westminster and Liverpool from October 13 till Christmas. The bins will then tour the UK before returning to London for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Wiles Greenworld London office supplies distributor and recycling company welcomed the government’s efforts to entice more people to recycle but questioned whether the cost encored is justifiable in the current economic climate. The environmental office supplies company believes that the government could have put the money to better use by investing in more recycling bins which would have made it more convenient for the public to recycle.
