Swimming pools could be heated by energy from cremated cadavers

Plans to use power from cremating the dead to heat swimming pools have been put forward.

The north east Worcestershire borough council are currently considering plans for a renewable heat source from cremating the dead.

Leader of Redditch Borough Council is the first to be interested in the words first investigation to heat pipes from a crematorium to a new swimming pool being built in the area. The new plans would save 42% of the energy is the equivalent of a saving of £15,000 a year.

However other alternative heat sources would have to be installed as there may be periods in the year, such as bank holidays, where funerals may not be taking place. By finding new innovative energy supplies such as this one, businesses are more likely to benefit from being greener whilst also saving costs.
