Statistics show new renewables powered over a quarter of UK electricity from January to March

The amount of electricity produced by solar energy in the UK rose by over 40% in the first 3 months of 2016, when compared to the same period in 2015. Overall, renewables were responsible for 25.1% of all electricity produced in the UK in the first quarter of 2016, up from 22.8% in 2015.

The figures also revealed good news for the biomass industry, with electricity from plant material rising to 5.6 TWh in the first quarter of 2016, an increase of 29% on the same period last year – the highest increase in absolute terms across all renewables technologies.

At Wiles Greenworld, Green Office Supplier London, we aim to reduce our Carbon Footprint to a minimal by getting 75% of the energy we consume at our Green Office from the solar panels installed on the roof of our building.
