Support responsible forestry with FSC

Despite the accelerated growth of technology and the increasing number of paperless offices there is still a major reliance on paper in UK Office environments.

The average office worker uses 10,000 sheets of copy paper each year. Of those 10,000 sheets 6800 sheets used on average are considered to be wasted.

We at Wiles Greenworld, Green Office Suppliers London, are passionate about Waste Reduction but we also recognise that paper will continue to be a required resource for businesses for the foreseeable future.

Like many other issues surrounding sustainability, paper usage is something which should be tackled incrementally. This means taking steps to ensure that the paper used is environmentally and ethically focused as possible.

To help facilitate this awareness we are actively promoting products which are certified to either FSC or PEFC. Both systems focus on conserving the natural habitats of plants and animals and respecting the rights of forestry workers and local communities.  Growing and harvesting timber sustainably provides valuable income and work opportunities whilst conserving the forest for future generations.

This means that there is an on-going incentive to manage the forest responsibly, with equal emphasis on social, environmental and economic aspects. More and more forest owners are opting for certification to demonstrate responsible forestry through either PEFC or FSC.

If a paper product is certified by PEFC or FSC, particularly 100% certified you can be sure that the product is Eco-Friendly and sourced from sustainably managed forests.

This week, to celebrate the upcoming FSC Friday we, at Wiles Greenworld, Green Office Suppliers, are attempting to raise awareness of the importance of responsible forestry and how your Green Office can be more environmentally and ethically responsible through switching to PEFC or FSC Paper.
