Online green claims clamp down

The Adverting Standards Agency (ASA) will look at green claims made by businesses and promises to ‘name and shame’ those who don’t tell the truth.

Earlier this month improved guidance aimed at clarifying what business environmental claims was used by the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). This guidance was aimed at providing clarity in areas not covered by adverting codes such as packaging, labelling and public relations.

A spokesman said, “The ASA will continue to respond quickly and effectively to concerns about green claims in ads that are untruthful or unclear. The public can be more confident that ever that the vast majority of environmental claims adhere to the advertising codes”.

Wiles Greenworld, London office supplies company can be certain that all of their green claims are genuine as they run business operations with a ethical approach and keep being green at the heart of the company.
