One in three members of the public still don’t recycle

One in three members of the public say they don’t recycle – even though 95% of people think recycling is important, according to new research. According to a poll of 2,000 people by packing manufacturer Tetra Pak to determine recycling habits revealed that 40% of respondents don’t recycle everyday, with more than half of respondents sometimes binning recyclable waste.

It found common reasons for not recycling included being in a rush or running late (34%), while 32% admitted that sometimes they can’t be bothered. Wiles Greenworld London office supplies distributor that offers free recycling at work was disappointed with the figures. The company believes that sustainability is everyone’s responsibility and that everyone should strive to reduce their carbon footprint. The company that offers green office supplies in London said that its plans to expand its free recycling at work service further to encourage more people to recycle.
