London switching to low carbon for 2012

One of London’s most iconic landmarks, Tower Bridge, is to get energy efficient LED lighting, reducing its energy consumption by 40%.

The deal, which benefits from the Bridge House Estates charitable fund, will go ahead with no cost to the taxpayer.

EDF Energy will be the lighting electricity supplier for Tower Bridge and will match every unit of electricity that it supplies to Tower Bridge with power generated from low carbon sources.

Other places within the London area are also trying their best to continue to reduce carbon emissions. For example Wiles Greenworld, London based green office Supplies Company reduces their emissions year upon year by operating and energy efficient office and running a green fleet of vehicles in regards to alternative fuelling.
