London construction firms set to embrace retrofitting?

Growing numbers of businesses are showing their support for sustainable building development and retrofitting in London and the rest of the UK, it has been claimed.

This changing eco-friendly attitude will hopefully “make people sit up and take note”, according to the deputy director of the Green Alliance, Thomas Lingard.

His comments follow claims made by the Thames Gateway Institute for Sustainability last week, which suggested that some of Britain’s leading firms are developing projects to help cut carbon emissions in homes across the country.

Mr Lingard added: “I think we are seeing more and more companies both well known and less well known companies coming into this space – which is very encouraging.”

However, he suggested that less well-known brands offering retrofitting and other sustainable services for property could find it more difficult to develop trust among consumers than some of the bigger brands.

“I think the trust that comes with the big brands that people know will be a helpful factor,” he explained.ADNFCR-2805-ID-19552566-ADNFCR
