International office carbon reduction strategy set for London launch

A number of office buildings in the capital are set to benefit from a new carbon reduction scheme.

EDF Energy has been selected alongside Dalkia FM to help implement the Building Energy Efficiency Programme (BEEP), reports LocalGov.co.uk.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson is confident that the strategy will be successful at improving corporate responsibility alongside other initiatives such as recycling at work.

He told the website: “This innovative financing and procurement model has been tested on our own fire stations, police stations and Transport for London buildings, so we know it delivers the goods in not only cutting carbon but also in making substantial cost savings and stimulating the demand for low carbon skills and technologies.”

BEEP is a flagship international initiative to reduce the carbon footprint of cities across the world, with London set to be the first to be delivered under the strategy.ADNFCR-2805-ID-19547714-ADNFCR
