Greening supply chain benefits big businesses and suppliers

The Carbon Disclosure Project 2011 Supply Chain report shows that carbon in the supply chain has saved more than 50% of big businesses and 25% of their supplier’s money over the past year.

As the supply chain accounts for more than 50% of carbon emissions, reducing emissions in the chain can therefore have a huge impact on reducing carbon footprint of products.

Wiles Greenworld, London based office supplies company has procedures in place to ensure when products and services are sourced they have an environmental impact of production, distribution and disposal, from supplier partners who have committed to prevent abuse, exploitation and discrimination within their organisations and supply chains.

Wiles Greenworld’s environmental policy statements commits to ‘source and promote a product range to minimise the environmental impact of both production and distribution’.

Suppliers who track their carbon emissions may be at an advantage because more businesses are saying that a carbon management criterion is important when they choose a supplier.
