Green Office News: ‘Landslides kill more people than expected’ claims research from Durham University

According to research by Durham University, landslides kill up to 10 times more people across the world than previously thought. Over 32,300 people have died in landslides between 2004 and 2010 alone whilst earlier research suggested that this figure was from 3,000-7,000. It is thought that weather patterns and deforestation have a part to play in the toll caused by landslides.
