Green Office News: ‘Clear laws needed to protect endangered animals’ claims wildlife charity

Clear legislation and tougher sentencing is needed to protect endangered species claims a wildlife charity. Illegal buying of ivory tusks, stuffed tigers and bear skins has created a £13billion business worldwide. A rhino horn can be sold for approximately £60,000 a kilo which is approximately twice the value of gold. Fortunately the Met’s wildlife crime unit has seen a 25% decrease in the number of sellers trying to smuggle illegal products in the UK.
