Green Office News: Big steps in Asia Rainforest conservation!

While Wiles Greenworld, the UK’s 2nd greenest company according to the Sunday Times has long been a certified FSC and PEFC chain of custody holder, guaranteeing that our paper comes from well managed forests, not all forests are lucky enough to be managed in the same way.

However things are changing! For example, Asia Pulp & Paper (APP), Indonesia’s largest pulp and paper company and a long-time target of environmental campaigners, today committed to protect and restore a million hectares of forest across Indonesia. The pledge, illustrated by ( represents an area equivalent to the total plantation area from which the company sourced pulp in 2013. The move was immediately welcomed by WWF, which until today has remained one of APP’s staunchest critics.

Wiles Greenworld sees this as progress as it will help increase the number of green office supplies products in the future.

Green Office Tip: Always look for the FSC and PEFC marks when looking to purchase your London office supplies. This way your office paper will be encouraging the best forest management practices.
