Green homes

Wiles Greenworld has learned of a new scheme which hopes to green deprived areas of a city through a series of scheme to massively cut its energy use.

Homes in Derby in the Midlands could save more than £600 a year through a £6.6m scheme introduced by Derby City Council, Derby Homes and energy giant E.ON.

The scheme will see more than 2,200 homes across the city fitted with a range of energy saving scheme, including insulating solid brick walls, new heating systems, cavity wall and loft insulation and even solar panels as part of a project to help tackle fuel poverty in some of the most deprived communities.
