Green Office News: Wind power, a conflict of interests?

It might sound like we’re becoming a bunch of political commentators here at Wiles Greenworld H.Q… but its worth remembering this is where our policies are created, including those relating to our environment, and when you have coalition government in power sometimes a difference of opinion can occur.

This is exactly what is happening around our on-shore wind energy plans at the moment, where the two men responsible do not currently see eye to eye on how much of a part this renewable source will play in our future energy mix. We’ll keep you posted on the results of the soon to be released energy bill which will set out how we will achieve our 2030 renewable energy targets. More information is available here.

What has this got to do with Wiles Greenworld and the green office supplies and green office services we offer you may ask? Well, it all boils down to doing business sustainably, and how you power your business has a big part to play in that. Supporting Mr. Davey on his current plans for another seven gigawatts of power from on-shore wind farms is a great way to start, and so is asking Mr. Osborne to back down on his plans for a dash for gas.

Green Office Tip: If your office is currently recycling, did you know it’s a legal requirement to keep your waste transfer notes for two years? Start filing them today or ask your service provider if they issue annual waste transfer notes.
