Not Just a Green Office Supplies Company – Helping Companies with their ESOS Commitments

Wiles Greenworld is continuing to help its customers comply with the latest energy saving legislation designed to help companies identify the most significant areas of energy usage. If you are new to ESOS please read an overview below:

The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) is a mandatory energy measurement and auditing scheme that targets around 10,000 of the UK’s largest undertakings. The Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) estimates that if participants in the scheme reduce energy consumption by an average of just 0.7%, this would reduce their total energy bills by over £250m per year, and save around 3TWh per year of energy. DECC analysis also indicates that there is significantly greater energy efficiency potential across the UK economy. ESOS is intended to provide a framework to help participants achieve their full energy efficiency potential.

Companies only have to participate in ESOS if they meet the following criteria:

  • Employ at least 250 people.
  • Employ less than 250 people but have an annual turnover in excess of 50 million Euro (£38,937,777), and an annual balance sheet total in excess of 43 million Euros (£33,486,489).
  • Are part of a group that includes an obligated company.

Our environment and consultancy team our offering cost efficient routes to compliance with a number of our largest customers.

Energy saving evidence packs must be submitted to the Environment Agency by the 5th December so to avoid facing fines exceeding £50,000 please get in contact to understand how we can help you achieve compliance!
