Britain’s law firms will advocate corporate carbon targets

The legal sector in Britain has recently launched a major new climate change initiative that should see almost a third of solicitors and law firms in England and Wales announce public carbon emissions targets.

The Law Society’s Legal Sector Alliance (LSA) group, which currently has over 200 member firms that have publicly committed to measure their carbon footprint, announced yesterday that members of the group would now move to implement carbon reduction targets.

Wiles Greenworld, London office supplies distributor and environmental consultancy provider welcomed the news that it hopes will inspire other sectors to target their emissions and embrace sustainability. The company which offers eco friendly office stationery supplies and a free recycling service has been targeting its carbon emissions for several years and has achieved 10% year on year carbon reduction.
